Alisagar
Deer Park is located in Nizamabad district of
Andhra Pradesh. The Alisagar was constructed in
1931 by the Nizam. Flanked by natural hillocks
and lovely flower gardens, the lake and its surroundings
are rich in scenic beauty.
Near the reservoir is situated the Alisagar Deer
Park, which was established in 1985. The park
hosts many deer species. This is a good picnic
spot for tourists. Nizamabad is well connected
by road with Karimnagar, Adilabad, Warangal, Nanded
(Maharashtra) and Hyderabad city. 163 kms.

Coringa

Situated
20 Kms from Kakinada and 70 Kms from Rajahmundry,
this sanctuary is a part of river Godavari and
has a rich growth of Mangrove plantation. A unique
feature of this sanctuary is that it's located
on the back waters of the sea. Otter, a protected
specie is found here. Among other animals which
include Fishing Cat, Jackal, Sea Turtle and Estuarine
Crocodile which are found in the creeks. The common
birds found are Snipes, Ducks, ,Sea Gulls and
Flamingos. Accommodation is available at forest
rest houses located at Coringa and Rajahmundry.
Best season to visit is from October to May. |

Eturnagaram
Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the oldest sanctuaries
of Andhra Pradesh. It is spread at a distance of
806 sq.km in Warangal district. It is located at
a distance of 90 km. from Warangal and 250 km. from
Hyderabad.
The forest includes southern tropical dry deciduous
type of teak and its associates like Thiruman, Maddi,
Bamboo etc., while the fauna includes several endangered
animals like Tiger, Sloth Bear, Four Horned Antelope,
Chinkara, Black Buck etc. It is located at a distance
of 110 kms from Warangal. Number of RTC buses and
also private transport is available from Warangal.

Gundla

| Gundla Brahmeswaram
Sanctuary lies between Kurnool and Prakasam districts,
spread over 1194 sq.km at a distance of 30 Km. from
Nandyal. This sanctuary has mixed deciduous forests
of Teak, Prerocarpuss, Terminalia, Albizzia, Anogeissius,
Dalbergia, Boswelia, Shisham, Andug & Bamboo.It
is situated on Gundla Brahmeshwaram plateau running
south north of the Nallamallai hill range, with
cuts and broken hill ranges, valleys and plateau's.
A perennial river by name 'Gundlakamma', crosses
through the sanctuary. The sanctuary presents a
varied habitat for wild life. |

The park
covers an area of 625 acres. It is presently one
of the largest zoo located in the natural settings
of a reserve forest about 4 km. from the Visakhapatnam
railway station on the National Highway at Mathurawada.
Primates This section houses various species of
monkeys - the common Langur, Rhesus monkey, Bonnet
Monkey and other exotic fauna like Mandrills, Olive
Baboons and Sacred Baboons. Carnivores This section
has Panthers, Tigers, Lions, Pumas, Jaguars and
lesser carnivores like the Wolves, Jackals, Wild
Dogs, Hyenas, etc., |

Manjira
Bird Sanctuary |

| The
Manjira Bird Sanctuary, located near Sangareddy
in Medak district, spreads over an area of 20
sq.km. This wildlife sanctuary is snuggled between
Manjeera and Singur barrages. The Manjira Wildlife
sanctuary is formed by nine small islands, where
one can find a number of animals, migratory birds
and reptiles like Marsh Crocodiles and Muggers.
The sanctuary is located 50 Km from Hyderabad
and is well connected by road. |

in 1965, the sanctuary spreads over 893sq.km with
dry deciduous teak forest, bamboo and miscellaneous
species of flora. Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Muntjac(barking
deer), Indian Bison(Gaur), Sloth Bear, Panther,
Tiger and variety of birds are seen in the sanctuary.

| The
flora of the park is of tropical dry deciduous
forest of degraded nature. The park harbors over
600 plant species ranging from bryophytes, Pteridophytes,
Herbs, Shrubs, Climbers and Trees. The vegetative
cover presents a mosaic of woodland and grasslands.
Prominent trees are Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood,
Neem, Bamboo, etc.
20 species including Sambar, Cheetal, Wild Boar,
Porcupine, Hare, Forest Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose.
More than 20 species of butterflies and several
hundred species of other insects and worms. |

Nehru
Zoological Park |

| Spanning
300 lush green acres, the Nehru Zoological Park
is a must for nature lovers. The biggest Zoo in
India, it has over 250 species of animals and
birds, most of which are kept in conditions as
close to their natural habitats as possible. This
is the first zoo to create moated enclosures for
animals. The Lion Safari Park, Natural History
Museum and Children's Train are the added attractions.
The Nehru Zoological Park which was declared open
to the public on 6th October 1963 has bred some
notable exotic and indigenous animals and birds
like the Indian Rhino, Asiatic Lion, Tiger, Panther,
Giraffe and Gaur etc., a number of Deer and Antelopes.
